Support the people of Ukraine
Project Objectives
To provide a 90-day transition settlement support for Ukrainians who will be coming to Toronto, that includes provision for necessities such as food, shelter, and health care insurance.
Canada is opening its borders through special immigration measures to displaced Ukrainians fleeing the war in their country. Ukrainians, likely the majority consisting of women, children, grandparents, and seniors will begin arriving imminently under special immigration measures as temporary residents with open work permits. We are currently awaiting for the government to provide channels for these families to access the emergency funding, if any. Until then, we are bridging the gap where it is needed. We estimate to support a single family as such:
Support is intended to cover basic needs such as food, incidentals, shelter, transportation and a communication allowance.
Total monthly expenses per family $3,000; Number of families 30; Period 3 months; Total project cost $270,000; Timeline: ONGOING
We know that the Lord likes and blesses the cheerful giver. His word declares “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom” (Luke 6:38). And this is our prayer for you. In Proverbs 29:29 it states, “He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack”.
There are many such promises in God’s word. Jesus Himself told that “those who do these things to the least of these” do it to Him.
We praise God for you, and we thank you for your love and kindness in helping so many people.

PRAYER REQUEST
We believe that prayer is powerful, and we ask everyone to intercede on behalf of Ukraine. Please pray individually and collectively with your small groups and church. Please pray for the following things:
- An end to the conflict
- The safety and protection of the people of Ukraine
- For God to redeem this situation by drawing people to Him
- For wisdom and discernment for decision makers (leaders and authorities in various spheres of influence, e.g., government, economy, media) and that they would make decisions that are good for the people they represent
- For opening of corridors so people can evacuate, and humanitarian aid can enter
- For the church – for believers to be strengthened in their faith
- For many to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
- Please pray for the leadership of this volunteer movement – for protection from the enemy, wisdom, discernment, the renewal of the Holy Spirit, sustained intimate personal relationship with Christ, and for us to be vessels of God’s love and glory.
